Corruption related matters are the causative agents of crippling the economic development of any country.
The Acting Executive Chairman Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission, Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe made this known during a one- day seminar with the theme “Systematic and Proactive Investigation into Activities of Unregistered Cooperative Societies in North West Region” held at Bristol Palace Hotel.
Delivering his speech as a Special Guest, Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe described Cooperative Societies as vital outfits in promoting economic and social development in the country, but needs to be supervised and ensured that they are duly registered and certified to operate.
He disclosed that proper investigation into their activities will yield positive efforts in eradicating financial malpractices and corruption.
The Acting Executive Chairman urged the Public Complaints Commission Abuja to map out effective policies and strategies to sanitize the operations of these Societies and to ensure they are duly registered for proper monitoring and investigation.
The Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission in Kano, Ahmed Ado Dadinkowa commended the Acting Executive Chairman for attending the occasion and his relentless efforts in the fight against corruption.
