Combating corruption at all levels is the vital key that will promote socio economic development of the State and the Country at large.
The Acting Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission, Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe made the assertion during the First Anti- Corruption Summit to commemorate the 2022 International Anti Corruption day organized by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission in conjunction with the Kano Anti-corruption Institute, which is the training arm of the Commission.
While elaborating the menace of corruption, Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe called on all stakeholders and the general public to collectively join hands in the fight against corruption starting from our homes to public offices and places of business.
He stressed that working collectively in sensitizing the public about corruption and it’s negative impacts will yield positive results which is the main objective of the Anti Corruption Day aiming at enlightening the people through paper presentations.
In his remarks earlier, the Provost of the Kano State Anti- Corruption Institute, Dr D. J. Usman stated that the United Nations Convention Against Corruption is 20 years old today, and the Theme for this year’s celebration is “Uniting the world against corruption”.
Papers were presented by invited resource persons that include Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, the Honourable Attorney General of Jigawa State, Dr Dahiru Sani from the Faculty of Law ABU Zaria, Zakiyya Haruna, Registrar Kano State Anti Corruption Institute and Dr D. J Usman, Provost Kano State Anti Corruption Institute.
